Environmental initiatives l2m5v

A series of initiatives are underway to repair, mitigate, or compensate for potential environmental impacts caused by land subsidence in the neighborhoods of Pinheiro, Mutange, Bebedouro, Bom Parto, and Farol. The environmental plan encomes initiatives related to both the physical and biotic environments. These measures were defined based on an environmental diagnosis conducted by an independent company specified in the Socio-Environmental Agreement and approved by the relevant authorities. y3l70

Measures include: c641g

  • The planting of 47 hectares of mangroves through the Aflora Mangue Project.
  • More than 10 thousand seedlings of native species have already been planted in Lagoa Mundaú, in the Riacho do Silva region and in Bom Parto.
  • Monitoring of mangrove fauna. Started in August 2023.
  • Aquifer monitoring points were installed in the Pinheiro and Mutange neighborhoods.

* The repair of environmental impacts is outlined in the Socio-Environmental Agreement signed in December 2020 between the Federal Public Ministry and Braskem, with the participation of the Public Ministry of the State of Alagoas and the adherence of the Municipality of Maceió.
