Braskem: it is crucial that the cause is actually determined with consistency 29362w

Maceió, June 11, 2019 - Braskem expresses  solidarity with the residents of the districts of Pinheiro, Mutange and Bebedouro over the problems that are affecting the region.  4w2v10

Since the beginning of this process, Braskem's teams have worked, tly with the authorities and independent experts, in the search for the cause of the problems in order to make it possible to find the more appropriate and safer solutions for all people.

In this regard, after the publication of the RM report, and later the exhibits thereto on May 21, a detailed technical evaluation was made by a team of experts independent from Braskem. On June 3, a meeting was held, coordinated by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), among the technical teams of RM, Braskem and the external experts. At said meeting, Braskem posed questions with regard to technical statements contained in the report. RM has 10 days to answer the questions.

At this time, it is crucial that the cause is actually established in a consistent manner, as soon as possible, in order to define solutions that ensure the safety of the people who live in those districts. Additionally, Braskem will continue working on emergency measures in the region, alongside the authorities.
